The LMA Livestock and Bloodstock Committee and wider Lloyd’s Bloodstock community invites you to attend the annual Nick Mills' Memorial Lecture. This year’s speaker, Richard Newton, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance (Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance, University of Cambridge), will deliver a lecture on Emerging Equine Infectious Diseases in an Era of Climate Change.

Nick Mills (M.A.(Cantab), M.R.C.V.S.) was a longstanding friend to the insurance market, particularly to underwriters and brokers at Lloyd’s, whose help and guidance were greatly valued. We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 15 January as we gather in his memory.

Speaker

  • Richard Newton, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance, University of Cambridge: Richard Newton graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1991 and joined the Animal Health Trust in 1994, where he developed extensive expertise in the epidemiology, surveillance and control of equine infectious diseases. He now leads the Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance group at the University of Cambridge Vet School, supported by the UK Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry. Richard also serves on several equine industry advisory committees, with his team conducting global surveillance and providing guidance on disease management and prevention.
